I’ve been feeling a little nostalgic lately.  I’m not sure if it’s the flashback pictures that show up on my social media feed each day or Everett’s birthday last month, but I find myself reflecting on those first days and months of their lives more often.  They were so tiny and they relied on me completely…a far cry from how they now seem to wake up taller each day and are constantly striving to do more on their own.  As a mom, I know that this is the normal course, and yet, I miss the days when they were so little.baby-snoresOf course looking back on those first few days and months of motherhood is not always glamorous.  I was completely overwhelmed.  Because honestly, there’s no way to know just how much work goes into parenting until you’re a parent yourself.  I remember spending hours over the sink cleaning bottles, days researching baby gear, and late nights with a baby who loved her pacifier but wasn’t able to keep it in her mouth throughout the night.  There were days that I didn’t get a hot meal because the baby would cry right as dinner hit the table.  To be completely candid, I struggled with motherhood.

But as trying as those first few days and months could be, they were so rewarding. I have vivid memories of my oldest daughter’s first (intentional) smile, the first time my younger daughter rolled over on her own, and my son’s belly laugh that would make me melt.  Sure, the days seemed long at times, but they moved so quickly.  All they really needed during those first weeks and months was me.  Not the fancy baby gear or toys, me.  Pure and simple.  That was an overwhelmingly wonderful feeling.greenleigh-first-year

WaterWipes – a company focused on providing pure and simple, chemical free baby wipe that contain only two ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract – understands stories like mine and so many other moms.  They’ve actually created a video with testimonials of moms just like me detailing their first year experiences.  Check it out:

I’ve been a WaterWipes mom for quite some time – I just love that durable and effective without containing any of the harmful chemicals and provide a natural alternative – but I think I love them even more now.  My kids might be getting older, but we’re keeping them in our house for years to come!waterwipes-momHave you tried WaterWipes?  What do you think of these pure and simple wipes?
