My New Favorite Dress is from Fresh Produce {Review}

Spring is here and summer is well on its way.  And for me, that means sun dresses.  Lots and lots of sundresses.  I pretty much live in them during the summer months.  They are so easy to throw on to run errands, a nice dinner, or over a bathing suit on our way to the water park.  They can be dressed up or down by adding a few accessories here or there, but for the most part, I keep them casual.  Because that’s what summer is all about.  Lately, I’ve found myself scouring websites to pick up a few extra dresses before the summer months hit, but I think I might have already found my favorite – It’s from Fresh Produce.It’s called the “Sunshine Dress” (fitting, right?).  Mine is black, like the picture above, but it comes in blues, yellows, green, brown, and just about every other color that you could possibly imagine.  I’ve though about purchasing another one, and if I do, I’m going to go with a lighter, more summer-y color – maybe the aquamarine?  Or maybe mint?  I’m not sure yet.

It’s made of 100% cotton which gives it a light feeling against your skin.  It’s so soft and so comfortable.  And the empire waist is beyond flattering.  Although the listing doesn’t say it, it has a bit of a gather at the waist, so the empire waist gives the dress shape towards the top, while the pleats allow a little extra give around the tummy area.  It’s the perfect combination.  It runs true to size, so no worries on having to adjust measurements.  And best of all, it’s made in the USA, so it’s a purchase that you can feel good about.

Personally, I love the scoop neckline.  You can see a little of the raw edge detailing in this picture:

And the color is perfect!  I had already washed the dress when I took these pictures, so you could get an idea of how the dress looks after a wash.  Don’t you just hate when you wash a black dress for the very first time and it comes out of the washer and dryer grey?  No need to worry about this black dress fading!

But by far, my favorite thing about this dress is the ruffle at the bottom.It gives it that little something extra.  It’s basic, but feminine.  And it gives the bottom of the dress a little extra weight so it won’t move too much on a windy day.
