HERDEZ Dinner Just Got a Little Easier
Somehow I forgot how difficult the first month of school is.  The drop offs, the pick ups, the homework…all of which is compounded by having kids at different schools, extracurricular activities (which I can’t seem to stop signing my kids up for), and waking up a full 2 hours earlier than I’m used to.  We went through something similar last year, and I recovered, but for now, September is winning…and I am most definitely losing.

By far, dinner has been our biggest back to school battle.  Honestly, the very thought of cooking on weeknights (or school nights as they’re now called due to Greenleigh’s entry into kindergarten) stresses me out.  Because, really, what do I have time to make and eat in the 30 minutes between the kids getting home from school and leaving for TBall practice?  And what could I possibly whip up when I arrive home late from a meeting that someone decided would be perfect to schedule at 7pm on a Wednesday?

Well I finally found the answer – HERDEZ Mexicana Frozen Bowls!HERDEZ VarietiesReady in a little over 5 minutes, HERDEZ frozen bowls come in 10 flavors and are packed with protein – each one bringing a little south of the border flavor right to your table.  And trust me, these little bowls really pack some flavor!  Admittedly, I worry a little when it comes to buying frozen Mexican food, but these bowls might just be better than my local Mexican restaurant.  They’re that good.  And much less expensive than going to a Mexican restaurant at only $3.99 per bowl.  The Chicken Tinga Bowl is by far my favorite!HERDEZ Chicken Tinga BowlBut it doesn’t end at a yummy meal; HERDEZ makes sure that clean up is a snap because you don’t need any pots or pans for these Mexican dishes.  In fact, you can eat them straight out of the microwavable dish contained in the package and just throw it away when you’re done.  No mess.  They’re perfect for between after school activities,  late dinners, and even make a great take-to-work lunch.  Five minutes is all you need for an authentic, convenient Mexican meal!

Make sure to check out their newest varieties Beef Barbacoa, Carnitas with Charro Beans, and Pork Chile Verde!  Look for them in the international section in your grocer’s freezer or check out the HERDEZ website for store locations and receive a $1 coupon!HERDEZ Beef Barbacoa

Have you seen HERDEZ frozen bowls in your supermarket?  Which one would you like to try?

Ooh, that chicken is calling to me from my freezer now – such a pretty dish. I loved the chicken mole.
