Aquatopia: Tidy Up Your Tub {Review & Giveaway}

My kids love their bath toys…but I worry.  I want the girls to have fun in the tub, but there’s a definite germ factor to consider when it comes to bath toys.  You see, most of the bath toys we have (and that I’ve seen when I’m out shopping) allow water to get inside, which makes me worry about bacteria and germs inside the toy.  And no matter how clean the girls bathroom is kept, there’s a definite germ factor when toys sit on the tub or shower floor until the next bath.  I wish I could say that I clean them up every time, but honestly, I don’t.  At the end of the day cleaning my house, let alone the bathtub, is the least of my concerns.  Heck, I’m just proud that I made it through the day and through bathtime.  I have no interest in going back into the room that is no doubt covered in water to clean up the bath toys.  And so, our bath toys sit scattered on the bathtub or shower floor until their next “swim”.

Before I had Greenleigh, someone gave me a bath toy holder.  It was really cute and I planned to use it until I found out that it had to be physically mounted to the wall in order to work.  I tried to mount it, but since we’re renters I was concerned…How am I going to get this thing off the wall?  How much damage is it going to do to the wall during installation?  Are you going to be able to tell it was there when I remove it?  I wasn’t sure so I never used it and so that bath toy holder sat in its box until it eventually found another home.

Since then, I’ve been looking for a bath toy organizer.  One that would get the toys up off the (potentially) germy floor and tidy up our bathroom, but that didn’t need to be permanently mounted to the bathroom.  Or even semi-permanently, because I hate when I attach something and the adhesive gets left behind when I try to remove it.  And then I found Aquatopia‘s adorable crocodile bath toy holder.

Bath toys are stored inside the crocodile’s mouth, which can be opened by pressing the top of the crocodile’s head.  Your little one might even want to play with the crocodile’s head, which makes this organizer a bonus bath toy.  To scoop up toys, just remove the crocodile’s head from the clamp (or if your child is playing with it, pry it from their hands as they insist that bathtime isn’t over yet), open the mouth by squeezing the handle, and scoop.  Then return the head to its position on the clamp and the toys will drain and be stored until the next bath.  All that water and the germs on my floor are eliminated.  And as you can see, this organizer can hold a ton of bath toys – our four look really tiny in there because there’s so much room!

It also has an adjustable clamp to fit the side of any tub – even if you have a shower door, instead of a curtain, like I do.  I even checked to see if it would fit on the big Jacuzzi tub in our master bathroom, and sure enough, it did!  And best of all, no adhesives, suction cups, or hardware is necessary!  Just put the organizer on the side of the tub and adjust the clamp to the size that you need.  Once tightened, it sits securely and won’t move when you go to remove the crocodile head to pick up or release the toys.  The closure is even padded, in case you have curious little fingers in the house.  And check out that convenient soap dish.  I won’t lie, our shower has a built-in soap dish, but I have to reach over the girls in the tub to get it.  I don’t think it’s a coincidence that there’s a huge splash of water each time I reach over them to get the soap.  This organizer’s soap dish is much more convenient (and drier) choice for me.I think this bath toy organizer has been a great addition to our house…my kids are pretty fond of it too.  So if you’re looking for a bath toy organizer like I was, make sure to check out the Aquatopia crocodile – it can be found in-store and online at Babies R Us!
