So many of my friends with little girls are dreading the “princess years”. You know, those years between the ages of 2 and 8-ish when every little girl wants to be a princess or just treated like one. Okay, maybe not every little girl goes through them, but I think eventually, those pretty and well-dressed princesses worm their way into most little girls hearts. And while my friends are trying to run far, far away from them, I’m running to embrace them. I’m excited about the princess years. These are years I understand, because I too, was once a princess loving little girl. And quite frankly, even now, the idea of being a princess is pretty darn appealing. I mean, who wouldn’t want gorgeous clothes, a huge house, and tons of help? And the ability to fashionably wear a crown everyday? Sounds fabulous. So when I heard about Everything Princesses, I knew I had to head over and take a look. Certainly this is a site that my princess loving girls would want to know about.
I headed over and found the cutest collection of princess dresses, pettiskirts, tiaras, accessories, gifts, and even dolls! The site was super easy to navigate, but due to their huge selection, it took me a while to decide what I was going to get for Greenleigh. I eventually chose an orange & hot pink pettiskirt, hot pink crown, and a pink princess purse – because what princess is without the proper accessories? Greenleigh loves to carry her own things and I figured this would be perfect for dress up and for her to carry when we go out.
Our princess items arrived really quick, and Greenleigh was home when the package arrived. This is normally the point in the review where I would show you what I purchased in its just out of the box, still its the plastic state. But you see, I can’t do that…because my little princess got to it first. She ripped packages open, and before I knew it, she was dressed and wanted to go outside to play. Most of my opinions for this review were gathered chasing her around the yard as she twirled in her pettiskirt and attempted to be “princess-like”.
After initially being impressed by the vast inventory they offered, I was even more impressed when we received our items. The pettiskirt is full and the colors are vibrant. It looked cute online, but it’s way better in person. The purse is made out of a heavy felt and actually fits quite a few of Greenleigh’s trinkets. I think the marabou edging and hanging crystals are a nice touch. Which brings me to the crown – when I ordered it, I wasn’t sure if it would be plastic or metal. I’ve bought more than a few plastic crowns in the past, only to have them break in a matter of days. So I was a little nervous. But right as I took it out of the package I noticed it was metal. This crown is really durable and will stand the test of time (and a rough and tough toddler princess). For those of you looking at that crown and wondering if my house is now covered in hot pink glitter, I can honestly say it is not. Unlike so many other crowns, the glitter is glued on and there isn’t a ton of excess, which means no glitter to clean up at home. This princess outfit gets my stamp of approval.
And I think her smile in this pictures says it all. She loved this outfit and twirling in her pettiskirt is one of her new favorite hobbies. We’ve already had a talk about her wearing it to dance class this Saturday, which is more than fine with me.
