Toddler High Tea

Last weekend we had our very first tea party.  Greenleigh was beyond excited.  The invite list was selective – Minnie Mouse and White Bear made the cut; Daisy Duck did not.  Poor Daisy.  Maybe next time.  Our dog Madison was invited, but declined.Hazeline couldn’t seem to figure out how to put the cup right side up and didn’t want to take my suggestions.  Thank goodness there was no real tea involved.Attire was comfy and casual, but leg warmers were required.  It was 86 degrees outside at the time, but whatever.  Minnie Mouse and White Bear were lucky to escape this requirement.  This really does prove that BabyLegs fit all ages.  I love BabyLegs, but no one in South Florida seems to understand them.

Food was served.  Naturally, the menu included goldfish crackers…but only in snack traps, because let’s face it, without them our living room would have been covered in bright orange crackers.  Well, more than it normal is at least.  And it was encouraged for the attendees to wear their food.  Hazeline wore part of a goldfish on her face until I convinced her it really wasn’t fashionable. It was really a work out though.  The girls felt compelled to switch seats every 2-3 minutes which made it one of the busier tea parties I’ve attended, but it was fun.  Maybe next time we’ll head outside and soak up some nice weather before it gets too hot.

The girls will have to get together for tea, Madi is always making some for us. Except ours have now grown to incorporate smoothies and full menues LOL

  2. Absolutely adorable! If they need crumpet or tea sandwich recipes for next time let me know!!!

Your girls are adorable! Tea parties aren’t something I’m familiar with, being a mom to two boys. Nor are leg warmers. Sounds like fun!

Why wasn’t I invited to the tea party?! And Honey would like to add that she is more than happy to be part of your clean-up crew if you decide not to use the snack traps next time.

  6. I recently started following you. As a mother of twin three year old girls this post brought back many memories. My girls just recently went to their first big girl tea party.
