Everett’s Paw Patrol Birthday Paw-ty!

Everett is 2!  I can’t believe I just typed that…  How in the world have 2 years passed since he’s been born?  It feels like just yesterday we were preparing for his arrival.  Needless to say, we couldn’t let this milestone pass without a party of some sort, and his love of dogs (more specifically “puppies”), made the theme for this year’s party pretty easy…until I started looking for puppy party supplies.  Turns out generic puppy party supplies can be hard to find.  But Paw Patrol?  Well, they’re very easy to find, so our party quickly turned from a puppy party to a Paw Patrol Paw-ty!Paw Patrol Birthday party Ideas Collage

If you’ve never heard of Paw Patrol before, it’s an animated series where talking dogs – who each specialize in a particular field – work together to solve problems.  The show is beyond adorable and the theme song is pretty catchy, but, if I’m being totally honest, Everett hasn’t really seen a lot of Paw Patrol on television.  But seven dogs on one show?  That’s right up his alley!  It also helped that there were so many fun Paw Patrol party supplies to chose from, like these invitations from ePartyPrintables on Etsy:

I even found some free Paw Patrol coloring pages online which I printed out at the last minute.  Then I threw some crayons into a few extra dog bowls (don’t worry, they were brand new!) and put them on the table.  The kids loved it!  This was really more of an afterthought since I didn’t have time to put together a craft in advance, but the coloring table was total hit and crowded with kids for much of the party:Paw Patrol Party Coloring SheetsPaw Patrol Party - Coloring Table

Of course, the bounce house made it’s party appearance.  No doubt the best $200 I’ve ever spent.  We’ve gotten so much use out of that bounce house, it’s paid for itself over and over again.Paw Patrol Bounce House

The pinata was a hit (pun intended), and I can happily report that not a single piece of candy landed in the pool, although next time I think I’m going to pick a pinata that doesn’t advocate animal cruelty…it was slightly disturbing to advocate taking a bat to that sweet looking puppy dog.Paw Patrol Party PinataPaw Patrol Party Pinata Candy

I even got one of those ever elusive family pictures where a majority of the family was looking in the same direction.  If you ask me, that’s a great gift.Paw Patrol Party Family Picture with CakeAll in all, this party was low key and so easy to plan, and because I spent less time planning, I got to actually enjoy all of it with our friends and family.  It was a wonderful party!  Now to navigate the terrible twos…
