Give Back & Bring Cheer this Holiday Season

The southeast has had some pretty crazy weather today.  From Texas to Mississippi and into Georgia, snow has been falling.  An not just a little bit…several inches of snow.  In December.  It’s highly unusual.  Here in South Florida there won’t be any snow, but we’re bracing for much colder temperatures.  Lows will be in the 40s.  Laughable for anywhere else in the country, but cold for South Florida.  As I bundled my kids up in their warm pajamas in anticipation of cooler temperatures arriving tomorrow morning and tucked them under an extra blanket, I felt so thankful.  Thankful to have all my kids safe and sound and warm under my roof during this holiday season.

Because the truth is, there will be families who aren’t as lucky this holiday season.  Families who won’t be under their roof during the holiday season, but instead, in hospitals battling pediatric cancers.  For these families, Tackle Kids Cancer provides support.

Tackle Kids Cancer is an organization with a revolutionary approach to cancer research and treatment.  Because Tackle Kids Cancer not only funds pediatric cancer research in a search for the cure, they create innovative care programs for their patients, incorporating their interests and with families in mind.  Doctors at Tackle Kids Cancer have scheduled a patient’s chemotherapy around a robotic competition in which he wanted to participate, arranged for a patient to meet his favorite NFL quarterback, and even worked to have a patient cancer-free in time for him to dance at his bar mitzvah.  They even found away to incorporate a patient’s love of horses into her treatment plan, allowing her to participate in a therapeutic riding program called Pony Power to regain confidence and enjoy physical activity. Things that may have been overlooked at other treatment facilities were the center of the treatment plans at Tackle Kids Cancer and meant the world to a child fighting cancer.

But in order to continue their work Tackle Kids Cancer needs your help.  They need donations to continue research and find a cure.  Every donation makes a difference, no matter how big or how small.  And because the pediatric cancer community is small, discoveries made by researchers with Tackle Kids Cancer dollars help children throughout the world.  This is a chance to make a difference for kids here and all around the world.
