This post is written in collaboration with Gift Card Mall. I was provided a gift card and additional compensation for my fair and honest review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is it! It’s officially the last week of summer! Later this week we have our teacher meet and greet and at this time next week they kids will be back in school. I quite literally have no idea where the last 9 weeks went…time flies when you’re having fun, I suppose. As we soak up the last few days of summer, I’ve been gathering school supplies and getting ready for the first day. I can’t believe we’ll have a kindergartner and a second grader this year! I might be more excited than my kids are about our meet and greet on Friday.
When we went for our teacher meet and greet last year, I happened to notice that there was a list at the back of the room. The list included things like ink, reams of paper, dry erase markers, and many other things that were still needed for the classroom. Fact is, even at our highly rated school, classrooms are underfunded and teachers are spending money out of their own paychecks to cover supplies for our kids to learn. Last year my husband and I jotted down a few items from the list, picked them up, and then donated them to the classroom, but this year, we’re doing something different – VISA Gift Cards from Gift Card Mall!
Easily picked up at your local grocery store or online at www.giftcardmall.com, VISA gift cards can be used anywhere and for anything that their teachers need for a successful school year. Not only can the teacher decide how to use it, but they can hold on to it for use later in the year if they don’t need it right away. Best of all, it’s so much easier than buying reams of paper or cartridges of ink and dragging them into school on the first day when you’re struggling to get the kids to their new classrooms and settled in.
But what’s a gift card without a cute holder? Check out this cute rule and crayon and ruler back to school themed gift card holder. I think my kids’ teachers are going to love it. It’s easy to make too! Find the free download here and make your own by following the instructions below!
