Disney on Ice: Follow Your Heart on a Magical Adventure with Riley, Dory, Woody, and More!

I was provided complimentary tickets to Disney On Ice Follow Your Heart to facilitate my review.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.disney-on-ice-stage

Disney on Ice is BACK with a brand new show!  Yes, you read that right – a brand new show!  Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart debuts at the BB&T Center in Sunrise this weekend, September 15-18, and the American Airlines Arena in Miami next weekend, September 22-25, featuring new friends and old favorites.  And of course, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy are there to emcee the show.

So what’s this show all about?  Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger take center stage ice in the first act, which focuses on Riley and her struggle to fit in on her new hockey team.  disney-on-ice-inside-outIn learning how to adjust, we meet princesses who teach traits such as courage, bravery, and kindness, which not only help Riley win the big game, but also help her fit in on her new team.  disney-on-ice-jasmineThe second act takes you on an underwater adventure as the newest Disney blockbuster comes to life as we follow Dory on her quest to find her family.  disney-on-ice-doryBuzz, Woody, Jessie and the whole Toy Story crew also take the ice during the second act with a showstopper of a number.  The act wraps up with favorites from Frozen singing all the songs you probably know too well.  There are new sets and new songs in addition to aerial acrobatics, pyrotechnics, and snow.  Because how can you watch “Let It Go” without snow?disney-on-ice-frozen

If you’ve been to Disney on Ice before, let me assure you that you haven’t seen anything like Disney on Ice: Follow Your Heart.  This show brings to life classics like Fantasia and the Seven Dwarfs, which I’ve never seen in any other Disney on Ice shows (and trust me, I’ve seen a lot of Disney on Ice shows).  disney-on-ice-fantasiaAriel and Rapunzel wow the audience with unexpected aerial acrobatics, soaring high above the ice.  And pyrotechnics?  Yeah, they have that too.  Turns out Elsa has the powers of fire and ice.  My husband, who has never been to a Disney on Ice show and went in thinking it would only be entertaining for the kids, was beyond impressed.  I think he might feel cheated now, since we’ve always used Disney on Ice as a reason for a girls night.disney-on-ice-fyh-mickey-minnie

And the kids?  They loved it, of course.  This was actually Everett’s first show.  I’ve waited to take him for fear that he wouldn’t be able to sit still, but he was totally hooked.  We might need to put this in the baby book, because this is the first time he’s sat still for 2 hours!

Want to catch the show while it’s still in town?  There are still a few shows left – including Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 1pm and 5pm!  Get your tickets here and use the code “FAMILY” to get 4 tickets for just $56.
