Minions Frozen Yogurt Bark {Recipe}

Minions Frozen Yogurt BarkIt’s official, Minions fever has taken over my house!  My kids saw the movie a few weeks ago (right after I posted all those Minions crafts for kids) and it’s pretty much all they’ve talked about ever since.  They want all things Minions and they can’t wait to see the movie again…heaven help us when it comes out on DVD.  I think it’s going to be one of those movie that they want played on loop.

So today I decided to prepare a little treat for my Minions fans.  At first, I wanted to make some pretzel bark, but I didn’t have all the ingredients at home, so I decided to make a frozen treat instead – Minion Frozen Yogurt Bark!  It’s the perfect treat to keep them cool after camp, and I feel a whole lot better feeding them yogurt instead of chocolate.Minions Frozen Yogurt Bark Recipe

Needless to say, it was a hit!  And it’s easy to make, too!Minions Frozen Yogurt Bark Tutorial

You will need:
Vanilla yogurt, approximately 12 oz.
Yellow food coloring or gel
Blue & yellow sprinkles
Candy eyes (not pictured but you can find them in the baking section of your local craft store or on Amazon)
Wax paper
Blue & yellow M&Ms (optional)Minions Frozen Yogurt Bark IngredientsStep 1 – Line a 9″ square pan or dish (I used a Corningware like container) with wax paper, cutting to size, if necessary.  You’re going to want to be able to lift your yogurt bark out of the container, so make sure that the entire bottom and sides of the container are covered.

Step 2 – Using the yellow food coloring or gel, dye the vanilla yogurt Minion yellow.  Stir until all the dye is well distributed and the color is uniform.

Step 3 – Pour the yellow yogurt into the bottom of the wax paper lined pan/dish, pushing into the corners.  You want a thin layer, somewhere between 1/4″ and 1/2″ thick.  Try to make it as smooth and uniform as possible.

Step 4 – Top the yogurt with sprinkles, then add the candy eyes.  If you’d like to add M&Ms, this is the time to do it (I only added M&Ms to half of the yogurt).

Step 5 – Freeze for at least 4 hours.  Remove from the freezer and cut into bars.  Unlike traditional bark recipes, I couldn’t recommend breaking this bark.

Serve to the Minions fans in your house and enjoy!Minions Frozen Yogurt Bark Instructions
