Another Strawberry Picking Adventure

Every year around this time, I take the girls strawberry picking.  Partly to satisfy the answer to the constant question, “What are we going to do next, Mommy?” and partly to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather that we have at this time of year.  After a somewhat disappointing trip last year, I decided to make the drive up to Bedner’s Farm which is supposed to have one of the best u-pick strawberry patches in the area.  And, well, they weren’t kidding.  The farm had rows upon rows of strawberries, which seemed to stretch forever.  And unlike last year’s trip, there were plenty of red, ripe strawberries to be found, along with tomatoes and peppers.Baby Brother did what he does best and took a long nap in the stroller.  Thank goodness the rows were wide enough to allow for the stroller…although I’m pretty sure all the dirt and sand in the strawberry patch voided my stroller’s warranty.  Can’t win them all, right? The next morning both girls requested strawberries with their breakfast, so our Strawberry Nutella French Toast was created – a slice of frozen french toast (cooked in the oven), a thin layer of Nutella, and lots of cut up strawberries.  Elmo plate optional.

Oh I can’t wait until all this snow is gone and we can go pick strawberries. We have to wait until June for that.
