Pregnancy Update: 25 Weeks!

It’s been a busy few weeks since we announced our pregnancy, so I figured it was time for an update.  While I still have periods of nausea and dizziness, I’m feeling so much better.  In fact, I seem to get more energy each and every single day, which is enough to keep me one step ahead of my kids.  I just wish I could basque in the 2nd trimester a little longer before moving on to the (often more difficult) 3rd trimester next week.  Eeek…did I just say next week?  Third trimester!  How did that happen!?

How far along:  25 weeks & 3 days

This week, baby is the size of an: Eggplant.  He weighed 1.8 pounds at the time of our last ultrasound at the beginning of the month.

Next appointment: First week of July.  And it’s my 1 hour glucose screening – yuck!  Not looking forward to it AT ALL.  Pray that I pass because that 3 hour test was hell when I had Greenleigh.

Gender: Still a boy.  I made the ultrasound tech double check at our 22 week ultrasound earlier this month.  She even gave me a picture of the goods so I’d stop asking her, but I’ll spare you.  Here is his profile shot from that ultrasound though:

Total weight gain/loss: I’ve regained the weight that I lost due to the nausea, and I’m actually up 3 1/2 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight.  Yay!

Exercise: Does running around the kitchen being a short order cook for my kids count?  Yeah, ’cause that’s about it.  Okay, okay, I’m swimming a lot on the weekends…that has to count.

Maternity clothes: I can still fit into my regular clothes, but find myself much more comfortable in maternity clothes.  Currently, my favorite maternity item is this pair of white cropped pants from Everly Grey (pictured above).  Seriously, love them!

Sleep: Definitely getting more difficult.  I need to find my Boppy wedge pillow – that thing was a godsend during my second pregnancy.

Food cravings: No real cravings since I feel full most of the time.  I’ve found that if I eat breakfast, I’m not very hungry for the rest of the day and often want to skip lunch (which I really try not to do).

Food aversions: Cake.  Of all things in the world – Cake!  Something I could ordinarily live off of and we currently have tons of in our house.  Food aversions suck.

Symptoms: Hands & feet swelling (already!?), food aversions, minor heartburn, and a major case of pregnancy brain.  Seriously, I can’t remember what happened 5 minutes ago.  Help!

Movement: All. The. Time.  Particularly when I want to go to sleep.  I’ve had anterior placentas with each of my kids – this one too – and don’t remember ever feeling so much movement, so early.  I’m slightly scared about what’s to come later in the pregnancy.

What I miss: Cake (see above).

What I’m loving: Greenleigh’s excitement.  Just last night she told me that she wants the “Baby Brudder” to come out now.  Of course, that’s a bad idea, but it’s cute that she’s excited.  Hazeline?  Not so much, but she’ll come around…eventually.

What I’m looking forward to: I can’t wait for the day that Greenleigh can feel her brother kicking.  Although he moves a ton, it’s not consistent, so by the time she puts her hand on my stomach it stops or moves to another place.  I think she’s going to love when she can actually feel him kicking.

Best moment this week: Disney World this past weekend.  I got tired easily, but it was so worth it!

Goals: Pick up a baby name book.  We know what letter the name is going to start with (it’s a family tradition thing), we just don’t have the name yet.

Any other pregnant moms or soon to be moms out there?  How far along are you and how are you feeling this week?
