PinkBlush Maternity: My Maternity Style at 20 Weeks {Review & Giveaway!}

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with maternity clothes.  At just over 20 weeks pregnant, I’m starting to outgrow my regular clothes and I feel that every morning I’m scrambling to find something to wear something that fits.  The other night, as I opened up the storage bin of clothing that I kept from my pregnancies with Greenleigh and Hazeline, I realized that I had almost nothing to wear.  Oh, I have maternity clothes, but I’ve never been pregnant during the summer, so all the clothing I have is either fall or winter clothing.  Summer is intense here in South Florida, so I don’t even want to think about wearing something that is 3/4 sleeve or long sleeved (and apparently that’s the majority of what I bought the last two times around).  I have very few skirts, a casual dresses or two, and absolutely no shorts at all.  But who wants to invest a ton of money in maternity clothes for their 3rd and last pregnancy?  Not me.  So when I got the opportunity to review an item from PinkBlush Maternity, I jumped at the opportunity.If you’ve never heard of them before, PinkBlush Maternity is an online oasis of trendy maternity clothes.  And because they sell exclusively over the internet and keep their operating costs low, they are able to offer their clothes at extremely affordable prices.  Best of all, their selection is huge and because they are always trying to keep up with current trends, they add to their inventory on a regular basis.

After searching their site I ended up selecting the Mocha & White Striped Basic Maternity Maxi Dress.  While I’ve never really worn maxi dresses before, something about this particular dress caught my eye – I loved the color and thought it looked like something I could wear to work or just hanging out around the house.  My dress arrived in record time (3 business days, tops) and I was excited to try it on the second I took it out of the package – the fabric was so, so soft.

If I could use one word to describe this dress, it would be – Comfortable.  It’s probably one of the most comfortable dresses that I own, maternity or otherwise.  Made from polyester and rayon with a teeny-tiny bit of spandex, the dress is so soft up against my skin that it’s almost like wearing pajamas during the daytime (which is fabulous!).  It’s short sleeved, which makes it great for summer, and the bottom of the dress hits perfectly,  just above my feet.  I wore the dress with flip flops on this particular day, but I think it could easily be dressed up with a wedge or heel.  The dress is form fitting to give you shape, but the bottom flares out a bit which allows freedom to move…um, I mean chase my kids around.  I think it will be even cuter when my bump is a little more pronounced.

My number one concern when ordering this dress was whether the material would be thick enough.  I mean, we’ve all been there right?  We order something that looks great online, but when it arrives at our door – Surprise!  The material is so thin, you can see right through it…and then some.  But much to my surprise, this dress is the perfect balance.  The material is thin, so it’s lightweight for summer, but it’s by no means see-through.  And despite being a polyester and rayon mix, the dress breathes.  It was well over 90 degrees the day I wore it and didn’t have any issues with the fabric sticking to my skin or getting hot (I mean, other than it being 90+ degrees in May).

So here it is – my 20 week bump, stylishly dressed:

And of course, this dress is just the tip of the iceberg.  There are tons of cute, stylish clothes on the PinkBlush Maternity website.  And make sure to keep up with them on Facebook for maternity clothing tips and deals!
