I wear makeup pretty much everyday. With that said, my makeup style is very basic. No crazy colors, no trendy styles, and nothing more than I absolutely need. And that’s not because my job won’t allow it, it’s that I don’t have the time. Let’s face it, I struggle to get out of the house everyday, I don’t have time for anything extra. But I do want to look beautiful. I mean, who doesn’t? So when I was given the chance to try Mia Mariu cosmetics, I jumped at the chance.
Mia Mariu is a Dallas based health and beauty company providing home-based business opportunities for women. They offer a full line of botanical skin care, healthy nutrition, and mineral makeup, but unlike so many other companies that only have independent consultants, you can order Mia Mariu online from their main website. No confirming with a consultant. Just order online day or night. But if you want to discuss your choices with an adviser you can do that too. And when it arrives, if you aren’t 100% satisfied with your purchase, you have 45 days to return. They want you to love the makeup you’re wearing and how it makes you feel.
For my review, I selected the Perfecting Finish Mineral Primer, Perfecting Finish Mineral Cream Foundation, and the Volumizing and Lengthening Mineral Foundation in black, because foundation and mascara are my cosmetic staples. Add in a little concealer and powder, and that’s my entire look. Sure I should make time for eye shadow and blush, but I often forget, and over time, these items have just gotten left off of my “essentials” list. I figured that the Primer would be fun to try. It boasted several minerals to help achieve healthy skin as well as prolonging the wear of your makeup. Since I often find my skin to be glossy (I much prefer that word to the real word, which would be “oily”), I figured this could only help my look.
My cosmetics arrived super quick – You may or may not have seen how excited I was about my Mia Mariu cosmetics arriving if you follow me on Twitter/Instagram. I couldn’t wait for the next morning to try them out. And they most certainly did not disappoint.
I was nervous about ordering foundation online for fear that I wouldn’t get the perfect shade, but when it arrived, it was absolutely perfect. And because of that, I was able to use it with my normal concealer and pressed powder. Admittedly, this cream powder is a little heavier than I normally use, but it’s a perfect full coverage foundation for covering blemishes and imperfections. The mascara promises to lengthen and volumize lashes, and does just that. But more importantly, it stays put. It goes on easily and doesn’t smudge or smear over time. When the day is over, it comes off easily with soap and water or a makeup removing cloth (one of my favorite short cuts).
The Perfecting Finish Mineral Primer is no doubt my favorite. It’s packed with antioxidants and intended to be used after your moisturizer, but before your concealer. I’ll admit, lately I haven’t been using a moisturizer. Bad, I know. I’ve just been washing my face and then putting my makeup on. But with this primer, I know that my skin is getting the benefit of Lycii Fruit, Aloe, Milk Thistle Extract, White Tea and Vitamin A and E throughout the day. Plus, it’s oil free, which is great because I already have that “glossy at the end of the day” problem. Since I started using the primer, I’ve noticed a definite difference in my skin. My skin isn’t “glossy” at the end of the day and I feel that my makeup seems to last longer.
