Yesterday, after what ended up being a very, very long day, I sat down to find that Hallmark Channel was having a Christmas in July movie marathon featuring all of their best holiday themed movies. It pretty much made my day weekend. And although I’ve avoided watching the movies in front of Greenleigh, for fear that she would start making me listening to Jingle Bells in the car again (we just broke that habit in the last week or two and I’m not about to backtrack on that front), I’ve been watching all the Christmas movies I can while the marathon is on. Favorite Christmas movie has to be National Lampoon’s “Christmas Vacation”! That movie reminds me how blessed I am to have a more normal family, that a Christmas like the Griswolds go through is very funny, yet off-the-wall, and watching it every holiday season, with my family reciting lines along with the movie, makes family time such a true special time together. Its starting to become a family tradition year after year.

I recall every year, when I was a child, that my parents/siblings would gather around the TV to watch “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”. Was a tradition we carried out year after year. I now have an 8 year old son, Evan, and we are continuing that same tradition. We love this movie. Exemplifies simpler times when families huddled together near the fireplace, a time of innocence and a glow of happiness. Love MAX.
