Lovely Jane: Little Accessories Made with Lots of Love {Shake, Rattle & Roll Giveaway Hop!}

This morning as we were just about out the door, Greenleigh told me that she told me she wasn’t ready to go to “school” yet.  I told her that she was – she was in her play clothes, had her shoes on, and her hair was brushed and pulled back.  It was then that I realized that she had something small in her right hand.  I couldn’t figure out what it was, so I put Hazeline down and had Greenleigh open her hand.  Turns out it was a hair clip.  While I felt that her hair was done, she felt differently and insisted that I use the hair clip she had selected.  The joy of having girls.  I love that they express themselves though what they wear and how they accessorize, but I’d love to be on time for work…just once.  Naturally, I agreed to accommodate her request, put the clip in, and off we went.  But of course, this love of accessories is nothing new, and with Hazeline quickly following in her sister’s footsteps, I feel I have no other choice but to embrace it.  Lately, I’m always on the lookout for unique accessories that the girls will love, because any outfit can and should be accessorized in my house.  Even if it’s just to go to daycare.

So let me take a minute to introduce you to one of my new favorite places to find the girls’ accessories – Lovely Jane.  Lovely Jane is an Etsy shop focused on feeding the need to accessorize, when it be yours or your little ones.  Filled to the brim with headbands, hair pins, earrings, rings, brooches, and more, there’s something for everyone.  At Lovely Jane, it’s not about finding something your little girl will have to wear, it’s about finding something she’ll want to wear.  Something she’ll love.  Something that’s a reflection of her personality.  And what could be better than a handmade item?  Oh, how I love handmade things.

At Lovely Jane, all items are handmade by Sarah, the owner.  Using her daughter as her inspiration (and model) she creates original designs using ribbon, fabric, felt, clips, and elastic.   And to add that little bit of sparkle, many of Sarah’s pieces include vintage button from her Grandma Jane’s collection.  Her hair accessories can be made into a clip or put on an elastic headband (skinny or wide) – it’s your choice!  The hair accessories at Lovely Jane come in a variety of sizes are designed to fit all ages from the tiniest newborn to adult, but anything over the 12 month size will fit up to an adult.  For me, that’s crucial because not only will the headband fit Hazeline, it will also fit Greenleigh.  No need to buy two.  But Lovely Jane is so much more than hair accessories – there’s a huge variety of jewelry to choose from as well.  Custom orders are always welcome, and if you need help selecting a special item Sarah is always available to help.

Let me show you just a few of my favorites from Lovely Jane.  Like this Strawberries & Cream Cluster headband.Each of the fabric blooms is approximately 2 inches wide and accented with vintage buttons.  Green felt leaves are added for contrast, and then the entire cluster is sewn on to a complimentary pink elastic so it will stay put.  No need to worry about your daughter playing too hard in this headband!  But if pink isn’t quite what your little one wants, or if they would prefer a barrette/clip, Sarah offers those as well.  I think this one would be perfect for newborn portraits.And this one is great for summer:
