Although Greenleigh is almost potty trained, Hazeline is far from it, so it looks like the diaper bag years are here to stay. That means that every Friday night I clear all my necessary items (keys, ID, credit cards, cash, and phone) out of my purse and place them in the diaper bag for the weekend. I love our diaper bag because it’s huge, but I hate it for the very same reason because my things always get lost in it. I can never find my phone when I need it, and my keys often mingle with the cookie crumbs that are inevitably at the bottom. A long time ago, someone suggested I get a wristlet to contain my things, but I thought it would be too small. After far too much time passed, I decided to look for a clutch – something small enough to throw in the diaper bag, but big enough to hold everything. It didn’t take long before I ventured over to Etsy and found SylSyl, the creative workshop of Sylvia, who began by sewing upholstery and later moved into sewing bags and quilting.
Her store was full of choices and it was hard to narrow it down to just one. I was looking for something versatile – something I could throw in the diaper bag when we went to the park and then carry to a restaurant for date night. After a long debate, I settled on this one.
When I first got my clutch, I was incredibly impressed. The fabric is thick, the pleats are precise, and I just love the design on the fabric. You know how black can sometimes be faded or white/ivory can show remnants of other color fabric that it might have spent too much time near during the creative process? These colors are perfect. And they match pretty much everything. The clutch even had SylSyl’s own tag sewn on the inside of the bag. Very professional. It was the perfect size for my ID, cards, cash, keys, and phone, with plenty of room to spare. I wasn’t sure about the flower when I saw it in the picture, but it’s cute when you see the bag in person, and if I get tired of it, I can always remove it later. I opted not to get mine monogrammed, but I like that it was an option.
Best part of all – This clutch has solved my problem of not being able to find my cell phone and keys in that huge diaper bag! It keeps my things contained and within reach. I’m able to pack the things I need in the clutch on Friday nights, and I’m ready for whatever the weekend might bring. It can easily transition from the park to a nice restaurant. I don’t need to carry everything around with me all the time anymore, and it’s fabulous! I’m so very happy with my purchase.

My favorite design is definitely the Sophie. I thought the one in Natural linen with a Chocolate Peony was so pretty! Love the natural linen look and feel. There are so many great options in her shop! Most are very classy, but I was happy to find something more casual, in the linen. Great variety. :3
