An Afternoon at the Zoo

Yesterday we headed up to the Palm Beach Zoo to visit with some great friends and hang out with some wild animals.   A good time was had by all (until nap time, then things got a little hairy)!

Greenleigh and her friend Baylor checking out the Scarlett Ibis.  Please note, I still can’t get the red sparkle shoes off of her feet.  At least she will take them off to go to sleep.  At this point, that’s good enough for me.We got there a little later than we wanted to, so when we finally made it to the tiger area, they were asleep!  Greenleigh did get a chance to hang out with this tiger though.

We got a chance to hang out in a Bald Eagle’s nest.  Huge!

The zoo had this cool fountain area where the kids can play.  Next time I’ll have to bring Greenleigh’s bathing suit so she can go in.  This was Hazeline by the fountain area while we were ordering Dip N Dots.  This is her, “Why can’t I have Dip N Dots” face.  She did eventually get to taste them after a few melted.

Coolest animal of the day?  White Alligator.  So cool.  His name was Mardi.

Least exotic animal of the day?  Flamingos.  It’s Florida after all.

Then Greenleigh got to drive a tractor.  Not a working tractor, but she was pretty excited about it.

Greenleigh then decided I hadn’t taken enough pictures of her.  She brought me over to a bench where she posed and demanded I take her picture. We can’t wait to go back!
