Word-ish Wednesday: A “Cool” School Project

For months, the girls’ daycare has been collecting empty milk/water jugs.  They said it was a for a school project and that they needed 500+ gallon jugs, but were somewhat vague on the details.  I had no idea what they were going to do with them.

Fast forward to last week, when they started construction on this:and from the inside:It’s an igloo!  I have absolutely no idea what the educational lesson is (perhaps a unit on Eskimos or just the fact that it actually gets cold in other parts of the world?), but it’s pretty cool.

The last sign I saw said that they still needed 25 jugs.  You can see that they still have a little to fill in around the door:I love that they are always thinking of special projects like this to keep the kids interested.

This was done at my daughter’s school, so I’m not 100% sure, but I think it was hot glue. I suppose any heavy duty glue would work though. Good luck on your project!

I would like to have the instruction for this Igloo how would I be able to get them ?

    ??

Hi Dorothy! I’m actually not sure how to get instructions for this igloo, as it was done at my daughters’ school (I didn’t do it myself). I know that they collected hundreds of milk gallon containers and then began working from the base up. The base was built up from a circular piece of cardboard that they used as a guide to keep it nice and round. Other than that though, I’m not really sure…
